Still being obsessed with bobbles and chunky, I wanted to create something that incorporated both, but I thought a sweater would be a little much for me.  (I can’t imagine what washing it would be like!  Plus, I’m a cheapskate.)

So, I whipped up these sweet little wristwarmers, which I am calling “Serephina,” from a skein of Wool-Ease Thick & Quick, in the color “Linen.”  The construction is very simple, basically a tube with a hole for the thumb.  As I’ve become a more skilled knitter, I’ve shied away from this style in favor of something that at least incorporates a thumb gusset, if not the rest of the thumb.  But because of the extra-bulky nature of these, I think this simple shape works quite well.

General Directions:  You will be basically knitting a plain stockinette stitch tube, with the following cable/bobble pattern set in, which is 7 stitches wide (both written and chart instructions are included for this at the bottom).  So, there are 7 sts of pattern, 15 of stockinette, for a total of 22 stitches around.

Knit until you have completed the pattern twice.  (20 rounds complete.)  The thumb hole will begin on the 21st round, or the first round of the 3rd design repeat.  After the thumb hole is put in, continue knitting as before and bind off.
