Folk in CraftSanity!!!

There has been a lot of excitement for me lately, and I am so happy that I can finally tell you about one of the very exciting things right now!

I will be featured in CraftSanity’s Summer Issue!!!  How awesome is that?!  In case you haven’t heard, CraftSanity is a fabulous blog, podcast, and now printed magazine about–you guessed it–craft.  There is an article about me, but also instructions on how to make my Saloon Bloomers, if you’d like to try them yourself.  (And–you definitely should try them yourself.  They’re fun!)

…I am so very thrilled and truly honored to have a spot in this publication.  Jennifer Ackerman-Haywood, the creator of CraftSanity, is doing an amazing job of spreading art, craft, and creativity around the world.  It makes me smile to know there are still people out there who are inspired and working hard to make a difference.

Okay, enough mushy stuff.  Go and buy a copy already, will ya? ;)

  1. Leanne, your saloon bloomers rock. I’m so happy that my sister directed me to your shop! Thanks so much for being a part of issue 3!

  2. Ahhh!! You rock, too, Jennifer! I’m happy your sister directed you to my shop, too! :D So glad to be a part of this.

  3. Every person I show the mag to, comments on how cute the bloomers are! I have yet to make them (I have a very long sewing list!), but I plan to for my girls.

On a side note…I’m coming to Wichita! My family all lives there now (they are originally all from Michigan). Any fabulous fabric stores you recommend? I’ve found a few good quilt shops, and the store “Sew Much” (which I loved for great garment fabrics!) My family pays no attention to such things, so it’s up to me and Google to find the stores!

Maybe we’ll get to be in a magazine together again sometime!

    • It is awesome to hear from you, Ruth!!! I LOVE your corset skirts–they are so sweet!! I looked through the magazine but haven’t had time to go through and check out everyone’s blog… And how awesome that your’e moving to Wichita! :D Sew Much really is a great store, and all the quilt shops, of course… but aside from that, the only other store I can really think of Needle Nook Fabrics. They have a lot of knits and dancewear (a lot of bellydancers go there for their costume supplies), and a huge selection of lace and elastic–it’s good quality, incredbily inexpensive, and much of it is handdyed here, so there are a ton of colors. Lingerie is kind of their specialty. In fact, the owner gives bra-making workshops around the country. ….then of course, there are a couple Joann Fabrics and Hancock Fabrics….

And on a side note….I *did* check out your blog, and noticed you said you were an artist–we have an absolutely fantastic art supply shop that opened here in Wichita, Bluebird Arthouse. You’ll have to check that out, too!

  4. Hi Leanne! I dont’ know how I missed that your replied to my comment…MONTHS ago!! So sorry! I do love Wichita, but we aren’t moving there. We just went to visit my family. I love to collect fabric on vacation though, so stopping at the local fabric stores is a must for me! NExt time I’m there I’ll have to check out the stores you mentioned:) Thanks for the tips! I hope things are going well for you! It was really nice to read your reply:) ~Ruth
